Happy Friday the 13th, Gentle Readers. Actually 13 is my lucky number so it's a happy day for me.  The home page is undergoing a series of changes, so check it out regularly at cats.about.com. But more important, be sure to love on your cats as often as possible, whether it's hugs, pets, or brushing their coats.

Am I Ready for a Cat?

Things to consider before bringing a new cat into your life, to ensure the decision is a sound one. Think about allergies, young kids in the house, and your financial and emotional ability to care for a cat. In a nutshell, ask yourself, 'Am I ready for a cat?'

It's a big decision, and not one to enter into with haste, as cats are not meant to be disposable.
