Cat Dads Celebrated This Week
 I was blessed for over 50 years by living with a man whose love for cats was infectious. My children all inherited that passion for cats, and since his passing in 2008, our son, Lance has taken over as the cat dad in our home.
Although you'll see the phrase everywhere nowadays, I believe I was the first one to coin the phrase, "Real Men Love Cats," many years ago. From the FDA: June 18, 2013 - Natura Pet Products is voluntarily recalling specific lots of dry pet food because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Natura manufactures a number of products for both dogs and cats, and every dry food line has been affected with expiration dates prior to 6-10-2014. | Cat Picture of the Week: Ricky

Ricky is a lucky cat in two ways: first, because he was 10 years old when Barbara adopted him. Senior cats often are overlooked in favor of kittens, a shame because they have so much love to give for the remainder of their years. And second, because after he was adopted, she reasoned that he would be happier if he had a feline companion, so she returned to the SPCA and adopted Skedaddles, a seven year old female cat. That is the kind of person Barbara is, and I wish all the best for the three of them for a long, long time. There is still plenty of time left to submit your own cat to the Adopted Shelter Cats Show and Tell section of my website. Who knows? Your kitty could receive Cat Picture of the Week honors too.
