| | Christmas is a week from today, and I don't want you to miss information you may want to read before the regular Thursday edition. A note of special thanks to all those who sent me "welcome back" emails, and holiday wishes. It really meant a lot to me, and if I haven't replied yet, be assured I've read and enjoyed every email. Facebook | Twitter | | Seasonal Safety Reminders for Cats Ahhhh...the holidays. The tempting flavors of Christmas cookies and pumpkin pie, the fresh scent of pine perfuming the air, the twinkle of lights and delicate glass balls, the thundering crash of the tree as kitty tries to climb it. It hasn't been that long since one of our cats has attempted that. However, they are always thinking up one death-defying caper or another to keep us on our toes. My Jenny has already lost deck privileges in our new home, after she jumped up on the railing, then set her sights on the roof - a combined potential fall of about 30 feet! Yes, the holidays can be a challenge when you have a cat in the family, particularly a rambunctious kitten. Satisfied with the ingredients, I ordered a bag and tried it out for my four cats. Did they like it? My full review gives all the details. When Nance Ross was thinking of adopting one of the six week old kittens, Hamish purred up a storm, making it no contest as far as Nance was concerned. Now, at three years old, Hamish MacBeth is the ruler, as well as the terror of the house. The older cats let him get away with his high-voltage mischief when he was a kitten, and they're not about to chastise him now. Hamish is the Second Cat of the Week for December, 2011 His story appears in the Life With a Red Cat Show and Tell. If you have a great-looking Sunshine Cat and a knack for writing like Nance's, he or she could be the next Cat of the Week. | Humane Holiday Gifts for Cat Lovers Would you like to give a gift to your favorite cat person, and at the same time, make a difference in the universe of cats and other animals?
